Sixth Form 16-19 Bursary

At Chenderit Sixth Form, we are committed to ensuring that none of our students are disadvantaged by wider issues, and that they are fully supported in their study programme. To support them, our students are able to apply for the 16-19 bursary; the 16 to 19 bursary fund provides financial support to help students overcome specific barriers to participation so they can remain in education. There are two forms of bursary that students are able to apply for:

Vulnerable Bursary

This bursary is for specific groups of students that are in the following categories

  • young people in care
  • care leavers
  • young people in receipt of Income Support/Universal Credit
  • Disabled young people in receipt of both Disability Living Allowance/Personal Independence Payments and Employment Support Allowance.

Discretionary Bursary

Students are able to apply for this bursary if their total household income is less than £25,000 a year and/or the student is eligible for free school meals.

Please see the bursary policy below for more information on how we administer the bursaries within Chenderit Sixth Form. If a student is eligible to apply, they can download a copy of the application form below, or collect a copy from Mrs Smith in the Sixth Form Study Centre. If you have any further questions, please contact Mr B Belstone, Head of Sixth Form, at bbelstone@chenderit.net.
