The final exhibition of the year is by our current artist in residence who finishes her eleven months with us at the end of term. The exhibition continues until the 22 July being open 9-5 weekdays and on Sunday 11 July 2-5pm.

A level Art and Design Assessment Exhibition.
The annual assessment exhibition of the year 13 Art and Design students opens in the gallery this Sunday 13th June 2-4pm. Featuring the coursewok and timed examination pieces of students doing photography, fine art and textiles, the show is open from 9-5pm for the next two weeks.

This exhibition showcases the work of Artists and Craftspeople from South Northamptonshire and North Oxfordshire. The work is for sale. Open 9-5pm daily and sundays 16th and 23rd May 2-5pm.

Explorations and interpretations with Flora, Fauna, and Friends.
The new exhibition in the Michael Heseltine Gallery is a double bill event that features the large Abstract Paintings of John Bowden, entitled Explorations and Interpretations, along with the photographs of the Cornbury Festival (2006-2009) by Michael Butterworth. The gallery is open 9-5pm on weekdays and on Sundays 28th February and 14th March. 2.00-4.00pm.

I PACKED THIS MYSELF
The new exhibition in the Michael Heseltine Gallery opens on Thursday 7th January and features suitcases and structures about people who make journeys. It is a Bridging Arts exhibition that shows suitcases from current migrant workers, Second World War displaced people, artist suitcases and work from our primary partner schools who have been constructing suitcases that represent their school and village. The exhibition continues until 10th February. open 9 - 5pm on weekdays and Sundays 10th January and Sunday 7th February 2-4pm.

A PASSION FOR DRAWING Work by Six Artists.
Six artists with a real passion for drawing will be exhibiting a range of work that illustrates the art of drawing.
Ian Murphy - Chrissie Borland - Karen Neale - Julie Askew - Joanna Liddiard - Alexis Soul-Gray.
The Private View is Thursday 5th November 6.30-8.30 with the Artists talking about their work at 7pm.
The work will be for sale. The exhibition opens on thursday 5th November and continues until wednesday 16th December. Open sundays 8th and 15th November and 6th December. 2-4pm.

The camera club annual exhibition opens in the gallery on Wednesday 21st October and continues until Sunday 25th October. Open 9-5pm weekdays and saturday and sunday 11-4pm

THIRTY YEARS 1979 - 2009 Work by Ex Chenderit Art Students
Opening on Sunday 6th September and running until the 15th October this exhibition of work by ex advanced level students will show a diverse range of work from paintings to fabrics, jewellery to crafts. It is open weekdays and on Sunday 20th September and 11th October 2 - 5pm.

Advanced Level Art Assessment Exhibition
The latest exhibition features the work of the year 13 students in Fine Art, textiles surface pattern and photography and shows their finished coursework pieces, their journals and their examination pieces. The exhibition opens on Monday 8th June and continues until the 18th. Open 9-5pm. weekdays and Sunday 14th June 2-5-pm.

South Northants Select Open exhibition
The exhibition of paintings, photographs and craftwork on show features work by fifty four artists in the local area and includes some one hundred and fifty pieces the majority of which are for sale.
The exhibition is open Sundays 2-5pm and weekdays 9-5pm.

The Michael Heseltine Gallery is delighted to be able to stage this fantastic retrospective exhibition of the work of Dave McKean.

George Large - Painter
A Goldmark Gallery Exhibition that features watercolours and Oils by the artist George Large. Much influenced by the work of Stanley Spencer, who the artist met as a young man, the work combines the figure as an integral ingredient within the composition. Open weekdays 9-5 and Sundays 9th November and 6th December 2-4. All the work is for sale.

Animal Fantasies and Sensational Ceramics
Two exhibitions of ceramics fron the Aberystwyth University Ceramics Collection that feature work from makers in England, Wales, Latvia, South America, Mexico and China. The work has the twin themes of fantasy animals and textural and surface forms.
The exhibition is open 9-5 on weekdays and 2-5 on Sunday 14th and 28th September.

Mental Experience. Dawn Ainley, Artist in Residence 2007-2008
The final exhibition this year in the Michael Heseltine Gallery features the work of Dawn Ainley our painter in residence this year. Dawn has created an exhibition that consists of 85 canvases with the idea that art is the product of a mental experience rather than a physical product. The exhibition opens on Monday 7th July with the private view at 6-30 - 8-30pm and continues until the 21st July. It is open weekdays 9am - 5pm and on Sunday 13th July 2 - 5pm. All the work is for sale.

Advanced Level Art Assessment Exhibition
Opening on Monday 9th June until Friday 20th June the current exhibition features the work of the year 13 Art students in painting, textiles(surface pattern design) and photography. The exhibition shows both the coursework and the examination pieces produced this year and is open from 9-5pm daily and on Sunday 15th June 2-5pm. The exhibition is closed on Friday 13th June for moderation.

SPOrTLIGHT. Paintings by the Singh Twins.
Twin sisters, Amrit and Rabindra Kaur Singh were born in London and now live in the Wirral. They combine the Indian Miniature traditions with elements from western aesthetics to create a unique genre within British Art. Responding to the celebration of the 2001 Commonwealth Games SPOrTLIGHT interprets indian miniature paintings held in international collections to explore current perceptions and representations of sport.
Coupled with this exhibition is Patterns that speak of Lives, The British Sari Story. This presents traditional Saris from South Asia and new Saris with 21st century designs that reflect British Asian Life today. In addition there are drawings by Helen Scalway of a Sari shop in Tooting London.

Carving a Niche. John Butler and the Woodcarver's Art
An exciting exhibition of pieces that illustrate the art of woodcarving while having a humourous side. Figures, puppets and pieces that tell stories, all beautifully carved and coloured. The exhibition opens on Monday 14th January with the artist giving a talk at 7 p.m.

Silent Locations. Ian Murphy
Ian is the first solo artist to do a return show at the gallery. This exhibition highlights his remarkable skill in creating mood and atmosphere with both colour and tone, supported by his superb draughtsmanship. The works reflect recent return visits to Venice and his first visit to China and the Forbidden City. The exhibition is open 9-5pm weekdays, Sunday 11th November 2-4pm, Sunday 18th November 10-4pm and Sunday 9th December 2-4pm. All work is for sale.

The Michael Heseltine Gallery at Chenderit School is delighted to present this outstanding exhibition of quilted works and sculptures by this husband and wife team. A monochrome show, the exhibition opens on Friday 7th September (9-5 pm on school days, Sunday 9th and 30th September 2-5pm) until Friday 5th October. The artists will give a talk on Thursday 6th September at 7pm.

Anne-Marie Cadman our textile artist in residence for 2006-7 presents her exhibition of work for the year. She has produced two major 45 foot long textile pieces together with lots of fabric and paper designs which are for sale.

Hard Lines, Soft Edges.
The first of this terms exhibitions ,all of which feature local artists, shows four views of abstraction through the canvases of artists Barbara Burke, Belinda Ellis, and Christine O'Sullivan and the sculptural work of Pam Foley. The exhibition opens on 23 April and runs to the 11 May. 9 - 5 weekdays and 2 - 5 on sunday 29 April when the artists will be in attendance and talking about their work at 3pm.

PETER BLAKE ALPHABET
A Hayward Gallery Touring exhibition, Alphabet is a set of bold and colourful silkscreen prints, one for each letter of the alphabet, produced by the artist in 1991. Peter Blake emerged in the 1960s as one of the leading British Pop Artists; he is most famous, perhaps , for his cover design of The Beatles' SSergeant Peppar album in 1967. Alphabet characteriseshis method of working, incorporating 'found' imagery from postcards, magazines and popular ephemera. From the familiar Z for Zebra and the iconic K for King(Elvis Presley), these screen prints reflect his humour, nostalgia and eclecticism. Open 9-5 pm daily and sunday 21 January and Sunday 11 February 2-5pm.

The Amazing World of PJ Crook
An interesting and very personal view on the world with a touch of Magritte. PJ Crook works with a wonderfully colourful palette using acrylics and in a whole variety of sizes. Included in the show are the CD covers that she has produced for the King Crimson albums.
The exhibition is open weekdays from 9 - 5pm. Sunday 19th November and 3rd December 2 - 5pm.

Kenyan Art: an exhibition by the Ya-Africa and Hawa Artists
Over twenty artists bring the vibrancy and excitment of native Kenyan art to the Michael Heseltine Gallery. Colour is vivid and startling, and the depiction of life harkens back to Kenya's social and communal way of living. The rare and stylistically distinctive works provide a window onto a world infrequently seen outside of Africa. The exhibition features paintings, sculture and other media.

Artwrite Exhibition
This the final exhibition of the year features the work of students from years 5, 6 and 7 produced in response to three of this years exhibition and the work of our artists in resedence, Clive Carepenter and Sarah Bosworth. Anthony Green has kindly loaned the major work that many of the students wrote about, while both clive and Sarah show featured work. However the star pieces are the writings and visuals produced by the young creators themselves.

This exhibition fearues the work of Clive Carpenter who has been our artist in residence during the year 2005/06. Taking the idea of close up images of decaying and eroding materials Clive has produced a strong set of images that move into the world of pattern and abstraction.

An exhibition of the work of two local artists, Frank Cook from Rugby creates paintings in oils, silkscreen, and in mixed media, while Beatrice Hoffman creates wonderful sculptures in Ceramics, bronze and resin.

MAKING IT YOURS:CERAMICS
An exhibition of major works from the Crafts Council Collection of Contemporary Ceramics.
Open Monday 9 January - Friday 31 March. 9-5 pm in term time and Sundays 15 January, 5 February and 5 March.
The Michael Heseltine Gallery at Chenderit School is the first Gallery in the country to feature work from the Crafts Council collection. Some 50 pieces are on display together with audio, visual and touch screen information panals.

Clive Nichols - New Shoots
Botanical Photographs recently exhibited at Kew Gardens. Clive is one of the world\'s foremost garden photographers and this exhibition of over 25 recent unique images of plants will fascinate both the photographer and gardener. Many are featured in his book of the same name which will be for sale. The exhibition is open daily from 9am to 5pm and Sundays 16th and 30th July 2 - 5pm.
