Social Sciences

Social Sciences Department

The Social Sciences department at Chenderit School comprises of post 16 courses in Government and Politics, Early Childhood Development, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, EPQ and Health and Social Care at both KS4 and KS5.  Within our various subjects we endeavour to provide an engaging curriculum that encourages students to think critically about the world before them.  Our students are supported in developing a balanced and challenging outlook which goes deeper, taking very little for granted.  The skills developed through our subjects set our students up to be analysts and thinkers who deconstruct debates and reach informed conclusions.  We encourage students to explore social life and the issues within.  Our approach encourages discussion, collaboration and communication skills to be developed to the standard required by higher education courses and beyond.  Our aspiration is that students studying our subjects will approach the world in a critical fashion and be more effective citizens as a results.
